May 12th marked the 49th running of the Puppy Relays in Aurelia, as third through sixth graders participated in a number of traditional track events, as well as such novel competitions as the Three-Legged Race, the Frisbee Throw, and the Bean Bag Toss. Elementary Physical Education teacher Mike Fry and his student teacher, Bart Smith, were in charge of the meet.

A special event this year was the "Nobby 400," a 400 meter run named in honor of former Aurelia basketball coach Duane "Nobby" Buttenob.
