GALVA - The Galva-Holstein Lady Pirates' softball team lost their first game of the year here on May 21 as they fell to Schaller-Crestland, 9-5.
G-H Coach Scott Phelps said the team "played well at times and not so well at other times," and was disappointed with the team's inconsistency.
"Our defense let us down, and we had one bad inning that really hurt us," said the coach. "We will regroup and move on as we travel to Lawton-Bronson Friday night (tonight)."
Jaime Christensen pitched well for the Lady Pirates, pitching seven innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs, while walking three and striking out seven.
