SUTHERLAND - Dave Perrigo scored six touchdowns while rushing for 192 yards to lead the Iowa Sharks to a resounding 69-0 blasting of the Minnesota Valley Wolfpack in Central States Football League (CSFL) action here on May 17th.
The Sharks tallied 10 TDs in all, with Perrigo scoring on runs of 21, three, six, 45, 41, and two yards, including the 21-yarder on his team's first play from scrimmage.
Other Sharks scores came on a six-yard pass from quarterback Travis Kooima to Zach Stucky, a jeremy Koehlmoos blocked punt that Tim Ruhland recovered for a TD, a Matt Baird fumble recovery and five-yard TD run, and a Ruhland interception for a 20-yard TD return.
Chad Dreckman led the Sharks defense with eight tackles, followed by Eric Hentges seven, Jon Larson six, and Taylor Larson, Tyler Phelan, and Cody Pierce five apiece.
"Our guys came to play," said Sharks coach Butch Faulkenberry. "From the first play, we asserted ourselves as the more physical team. Our offensive line played outstanding. We had great fan support and our team delivered an outstanding performance.
The Sharks play the Midwest Plainsmen in Omaha on May 24.
