Gary A. Pierce, 74 of Boscobel, Wis., died May 24, 2008 at the Boscobel Area Health Care in Boscobel. A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 29 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel, Father Robert Butz officiating. Burial was in the Boscobel Cemetery, with Military honors accorded by the Blake-Semrad American Legion Post and the Gilbertson-Pitzer VFW Post, both of Boscobel.

Gary was born on May 10, 1934 in Cherokee to George and Hazel (Booth) Pierce. He married Connie Wallace on May 5, 1956 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

Gary was a veteran of the Koren Conflict. He worked in the grocery industry as a meat cutter, he and Connie owned Pierce's Butcher Shop in Blue River, Wisc., and later he worked as a state meat inspector until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a grandson, Matthew Pierce.

He is survived by his wife Connie Pierce of Boscobel; three sons, Mark (Pam) Pierce of Cherokee, Paul Pierce of Madison, Wis., and Bruce (Pam) Pierce of Farmington Hills, Mich.; two daughters, Lisa (Doug) Stowell of Boscobel and Kristie (Shay) Cody of Spring Grove, Minn; 15 grandchidren, one great-grandchild, and a sister, Wilma Simmons of Ridge Crest, Calif.
