Cherokee County redesigns county website

Thursday, June 5, 2008

The Cherokee County Auditor's office recently announced the release of the county's redesigned website. The new web site design focuses on the county government organization, citizen information, and "visitor friendly" features.

The website now includes an election center, office profiles and duties, county events and announcements, regional and state events, Board of Supervisor minutes and agenda, photo galleries, local, state and federal links, county forms, area historical information, community information and more.

Web Coordinator Kady Brauninger invites the public to "Take a look through our updated Cherokee County website."

"It has literally been re-designed and updated for ease of use by beginners or experts alike. Plenty of eye appeal without unneeded clutter. The new site was designed with today's web needs in mind and tomorrow's growth proactively planned for," said Brauninger.

Web design management company "Inukshuk Technologies" President Myron "Max" Elg of Spencer stated "It has been a great and rewarding experience working with Ms. Brauniger and all of the county officers and departments that make Cherokee County. We hope that everyone who visits their updated website, now and in the future, finds value on each visit."

The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors also invites current residents and visitors to use this online resource to find additional and helpful information about Cherokee County. Visitors can download forms, read agendas and minutes, gather census data and find links to more information about Cherokee County local government and the state of Iowa.

Brauniger is also proud to mention that the new website is full of pictures from every community in the county and she is looking for more community involvement in posting photographs. If you have pictures of your community that you would like to share with the whole county you can send them to Kady Brauniger at kbrauninger@co.cherokee.ia.us.

The new Cherokee County website can be found at www.cherokeecountyiowa.com.
