AURELIA - The Aurelia Bulldogs rode the pitching of Jared Bruce and stellar defense to an exciting 4-3 win over the visiting Schaller-Crestland Wildcats in Northwest Conference baseball action here on June 2nd.

In the bottom of the 7th inning, the Bulldogs' Jason Glienke scored on a passed ball, to tie the game. Kyle Bruns then walked, loading the bases with two outs. Another Wildcat passed ball then allowed Michael Pritchard to come in from third with the winning run.

Bruce pitched seven innings for the win, registering seven strikeouts and issuing just two walks.

"All in all we played with excellent composure and maturity, " said Bulldog coach Bob Mikos. Mikos said that every single player did their job defensively, and that Miki Alt had a solid game as the designated hitter, going two for three at the plate.
