Christensen pitches no hitter in win
PAULLINA - The Galva-Holstein softball team went 1-1 at the South O'Brien
softball tournament on Saturday June 7. G-H lost in the opening round to a good South O'Brien team, 6-0.
The Lady Pirates' Jaime Christensen took the loss on the mound, going seven innings, giving up five hits and two earned runs, while walking one and striking out three. At the plate, the Lady Pirates could muster only two singles, by Heather Joslin and Brea Slaybaugh.
In their second game, G-H defeated Clay Central of Everly, 6-0,
as Lady Pirate sophomore Jaime Christensen pitched a seven-inning no-hitter,
striking out seven Mavericks, while issuing just one walk.
Leading the way at the plate for Galva-Holstein was Heather Joslin, who went 2-2 with a double and drove in two runs, while Brittany Ridder also slugged a double and Kara Slaybaugh had two RBI.
Galva-Holstein Coach Scott Phelps was happy with the Lady Pirates' win, but said, "We still need to be consistent at the plate and make the plays in
