REMSEN - The Galva-Holstein Softball team improved to 7-6 overall and 5-1 in the conference with a 8-2 win over Remsen-Union on June 9th.
Leading the Lady Pirates on the mound was sophomore pitcher Jaime Christensen. Christensen gave up two unearned runs on three hits, two walks and five K's in a strong seven-inning outing.
Leading the way at the plate for G-H were the Joslin sisters - Heather Joslin was 4-4 with two doubles and five RBI, while sister Lindsey was 2-4 and scored three runs. Brooke Weise and Emily Schiernbeck each drove in a run.
G-H Coach Scott Phelps was extremely happy with the team's win over a quality
opponent - especially the defense, as they played an errorless game and "put the ball in play."
"The kids are playing hard and learning from game to game," said Phelps. "We are also seeing progress from game to game, which is very encouraging."
