Being a father has always been a noble undertaking, even back when it was an expected role for most men.
By being a father we are talking about more than just contributing some of the material needed for conception. We are talking about the financial, physical and emotional actions necessary to raise a child.
In the modern era, too many men think the part of fatherhood that goes beyond the conception of the child is optional when a child is born.
Still, most fathers, even in the present era, share of themselves in a way that will produce good citizens for the future.
It is fitting that a day should be set aside each year to honor fathers.
Let your father know you care, not only on Father's Day, but on other days of the year as well.
