St. Mary's girls edge Aurelia, 2-1

Erin Laursen pitched six innings for Aurelia and gave up two runs -

both earned - on two hits. Laursen struck out five and walked four.

Aurelia's leading hitter on the night was Audrey Winterhof, who went 2-for-3 and scored the Bulldogs' lone run. Leah Kai and Cassie Sleezer had one hit apiece for Coach Jason Heeren's Aurelia squad.

Heeren said, "We had opportunities to put runs on the board, but because we weren't aggressive, we were unable to execute in those situations."
