Mortenson commissioned

Ronald Ray Mortenson of Cherokee was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army ROTC at the University of Iowa on May 17. Commissioning officer was Major David Pinter.

Lt. Mortenson is assigned to the Aviation Branch of the Iowa National Guard where he will be attending helicopter flight school.

Ronald also received a Bachelor of Business degree with finance major from the University of Iowa.

Lt. Mortenson is the son of Barbara Timmins and the late Donald Mortenson. His grandparents are Dale and Marian Bakker and Ron and Donna Mortenson, all of Cherokee.
