Sheldon rode an early 3-0 lead to a 6-1 conquest of the enigmatic Cherokee Washington High softball team here in Lakes Conference action on June 17th.
Cherokee threatened in the fourth inning by loading the bases with one out, and a sacrifice fly to left center off the bat of Kelsie Peterson scored Alanna Valentine, who had walked and advanced on a passed ball and two walks. However, the visiting Orabs stifled any further Cherokee scoring opportunities.
Lacie Drennan was 2-4 to lead the Washington High club, while Lynn Carlson was 1-2 with two walks, Kelsie Essick 1-4, and Peterson with that RBI sacrifice fly.

Kelsey Ludwig took the pitching loss for Cherokee, allowing two earned runs on four walks and eight hits in seven innings of work.
Cherokee is now 4-10 over all and 2-6 in the Lakes Conference.
