AURELIA - Errors continued to plague the Aurelia baseball squad Monday as the Bulldogs dropped a Northwest Conference contest to Laurens-Marathon, 17-5.
Kody Pinkerton pitched 4 2/3 innings for the Bulldogs and gave up 10 hits, including a 3- run homer, with one strikeout and four walks.
Angelo Mikos pitched 2 1/3 innings, giving up seven hits, while striking out two and walking two.
At the plate, Pinkerton and Jason Glienke each had three hits, Jared Bruce and Dalton Jones had two hits apiece, and Camrin Meyer and Angelo Mikos also collected one hit
"Errors continue to be our enemy," said Bulldog coach Bob Mikos. "We are hitting the ball but not finding the gaps. At times we shine defensively, but simple mistakes compound our problems.
"You will have trouble winning when you have 10 or more errors (in a game). We had some excellent hustle and then turned around and made mistakes that add up in a hurry. On offense, we need to put the ball in play and not go for the long ball."
