Hirschman beat Tom Girsch 5-4 in his first match, and then took out Pinky Green 3-2 in the semifinal before clipping Weber in the title match. Weber beat Daryl Bunch 3-2 in his opener, and then defeated Ken Slater 3-1 in the semifinal.
Brad Wittrock won the First Flight with a 3-2 verdict over John Curry. Wittrock beat Kevin Bengtson 3-2 in first round, and then beat Mike Green 4-3 in the semifinal. Curry handled Mike Nixon 4-2, and Jake Spindler 3-2 to make the title match.
Rick Skeels won the Third Flight 2-up over Matt Peterson. Skeels beat Don Royer 4-3, and Ed Peterson 4-3 to make the championship match. Peterson defeated Jim Robinson 2-1, and Bruce Linn 4-3 to make the finals.
Prize winners in the tourney were Ed Peterson, a watch from Royer's Jewelry for closest to the pin on #8; Steve Corken, $100 gift certificate from Coca-Cola for longest drive on #2; and Hank Rogge, a golf bag from Cherokee Golf & Country Club for closest to the pin on #4 (How freakin' long was that tape measure?).
Thirty-two golfers in four flights represented the field for this year's Consolation Tournament, which is comprised of all qualifiers missing the cut for the Sioux Valley Amateur Men's Match-Play Golf Tournament the week before.
