Services were held on July 1 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Pastor Catie Newman officiated. Burial was in the Kennebec Cemetery at Castana.
Jean Ann Albrant was born Aug. 22, 1941, at Brainerd, Minn., the daughter of Clarence and Iva (Rogers) Albrant. She was raised in the Estherville and Wallingford, areas. She later lived in the Cherokee area before moving to Castana.
Jean will long be remembered for her excellent cooking. Throughout her life, she cooked at numerous nursing homes and also Dave's World in Onawa, and six years at the Senior Citizen Center in Onawa, until ill health forced her retirement.
She was baptized in the Baptist faith. Jean also enjoyed crafts and collected angels and porcelain dolls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Tyler and Trevor Nelson; a great-granddaughter, Zarah Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Albrant.
Survivors include her longtime partner, Charles Hinrickson of Castana; her children, Ronda Johnson of Sheldon Terry Igou (Karen) of Hartley, Glenn Igou of Whiting, Marcia Farrell of Cherokee, and Tina Nelson of Whiting; grandchildren, Tony (Melissa), Brian (Peggy), Luke (Amber) and Naomi Johnson, Dustin Igou, David and Chuck Igou, Nathan (Amber), Ryan and Brent Renken and Clayton, Abbi and Emma Nelson; great-grandchildren, Savanah, Blake, Alexa and Madison Johnson, Dusty, Alexis and Devon Igou, Mia and Ally Renken; and siblings, Jim Albrant of Dickens, Iowa, Pete Albrant (Ruth) of Graettinger, Mark Albrant of Estherville, Elsie Morris (Steve Behrends) of Ringstead, and Eddie (Dyan) Albrant of Manhatten, Kan.
