"Interning in my office in Washington D.C. is a valuable experience for any student who wants to get a first-hand look at how the Senate works," Grassley said. "Interns play an important role in my office and are given the opportunity to take full advantage of their surroundings. An internship is a unique opportunity for students to gain professional experience that will help them in their future endeavors."
Ebert, who is also a government relations intern with the Iowa Pork Producers Association this summer, worked as a legislative intern in Grassley's personal office, doing research and drafting messages to help with the Senator's legislative efforts.
"This internship has been a real learning experience," Ebert said. "I've grown up in production agriculture, and seeing agricultural legislative work on the other end of the spectrum gives a whole new perspective."
