GALVA - Galva-Holstein lost to MMC 2-1 on June 27th in non-conference softball action here. Michaela Else took the loss on the mound for the Lady Pirates, pitching all seven innings and giving up four hits and one earned run, while walking three and striking out two. G-H was limited to just three singles - by Brittany Ridder, Michaela Else and Emily Schiernbeck. Schiernbeck drove in the lone G-H run.

The Lady Pirates' team continued its recent slide, caused by injury issues, at the Glidden-Ralston tournament on June 28th. G-H went 0-2, and have now dropped their last eight games, after being 15-8 at one point in the season.

In their first game, againist a ranked Glidden-Ralston team, G-H lost 8-0. Taking the loss on the mound was Michaela Else, who went two innings, allowed three hits and two runs, both earned. Else walked three and struck out three. Ashley Buell relieved Else, and threw four innings, giving up three hits and six runs two earned). Buell walked three and didn't register any strikeouts. G-H only came up with four hits, including Heather Joslin's double.

In game two, G-H lost to Ar-We-Va, 10-3. Taking the loss on the mound was Ashley Buell, who threw the first five innings and gave up three runs (two earned). Buell gave up five hits, walked one, and didn't have any strike outs. Heather Joslin and Brooke Wiese combined to throw the last two innings and gave up seven runs (one earned). The two combined to allow three hits, walk nine and strike out one. Leading the way at the plate for G-H were Heather Joslin, who went 3-4 with a double and Brea Slaybaugh, who went 2-4. Lindsey Joslin and Brooke Wiese both had a triple and an RBI.
