June Day, 78, of Salina, Kan., passed away on July 4, 2008, following a brief illness, in the Hospice Center in Salina, Kan. Funeral services were held on July 8 in the Ryan Mortuary, and burial followed in the Rose Lawn Cemetery in Salina,
June Eiseley was born June 24, 1930. She married Forrest (Frosty) Day on Nov. 26, 1947, in Salina, Kan., where Frosty, a Quimby native, was serving at the U.S. Air Force Base in Salina, Kan. Following Frosty's discharge from the U.S Armed Forces, the couple lived in Cherokee for a while. To this union, four children were born; Larry, Connie, Mike and Paul.
June worked many years at the Brown-Makie Business School in Salina, Kan., then spent her retirement years traveling and enjoying her ever-growing family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother; her husband Fosty, in June, 1978; a son, Paul; granddaughter, Becky Day; Frosty's parents, Wesley and Eva Stewart Day; a brother-in-law Marvin Day, killed on Anzio Beach, Italy, during WWII in 1944; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Day Piveral.
June is survived by her son Larry and his wife Deb; daughter Connie and her husband, Warren Berry; son Mike; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
