What was it we were talking about?

Recently, researchers have gotten results from studies that confirm earlier studies indicating that when preschoolers watch television, this increases the chances of their developing attention deficit problems later in life.

Other studies have previously linked TV viewing with other childhood problems such as obesity and aggressiveness. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that youngsters under age 2 not watch television. The studies indicate that all preschoolers should have very limited exposure to TV, and that no exposure at all would be best.

Perhaps it is not realistic to expect school age children to refrain from all TV watching, but involving them in alternative activities from preschool age on would be a desirable objective for parents.

Parents should teach by example. Excessive TV viewing is not healthy for adults either.

Having the TV constantly running in the home could lead to… well we can't remember exactly what it will lead to -but it must be something bad.
