One of the most entertaining events of the summer is also an event with one of the worthiest goals.

The Rock the Block event at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Aug. 16, will raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which is working on a cure for a devastating disease.

There will be plenty of activities for people of all ages culminating in a dance at 9 p.m. featuring the Fishheads, an Omaha based band.

A pork producer grill-out will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be an ongoing raffle of merchandise and services provided by area merchants. A classic car show will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Kid Zone games and inflatables will take place between 5 and 9 p.m.

Throughout the event, there will be a beer garden and concessions.
