The Cherokee Braves "Fit To Hit" Football Camp for players in grades 7-12 is scheduled for Monday through Thursday, August 4-7, at the Washington High School practice fields.

Players can pick up registration forms at WHS or Roosevelt Elementary School. The registration forms should be brought to the Braves weight room, or mailed to Coach Neil Phipps at Washington High School.

Cost for the four-day camp is $35 per player, and $50 total for two players from the same family. Camp registration includes a Camp t-shirt and shorts.

Grades 7-8 will participate from 5-6:30 p.m., with first-day check-in at 4:30 p.m. Grades 9-12 will participate from 6-8 p.m., with first-day check-in at 5:30 p.m.

Players should wear shorts, shirt, and football shoes that they intend to wear during the upcoming 2008 season. The shoes should be broken in before the Camp.

The Braves will be coached this season by co-head coaches Neil Phipps and Kurt Reynolds, both veteran assistant coaches at Cherokee. They replace Tony Napierala, who accepted the head football coaching position at Muscatine.

Official Iowa high school practice starts on Monday, August 11. The prep regular season begins Friday, August 29.
