A brochure published by the Sanford Museum promotes attractions available in Cherokee, free and entertaining for people of all ages.
"People visiting the museum from out of town would ask what else there is to do in town. That's where the idea for this came from," explained Michele Deiber Kumm, associate director of the Sanford Museum and Planetarium.
The brochure, titled 'Fun & Free in Cherokee' features color photos and information about the Sanford Museum, Koser Spring Lake Park, Lily of the Valley One Room School, and the Old Depot.
The colorful brochures are printed on the museum's new laser printer. Some will be distributed through the depot or the Cherokee Chamber office but primarily, they will be distributed through the Sanford Museum.
Although having entertainment that is free attracts people from out of the community, many of the visitors spend money at local businesses.
