The 6th annual Cherokee Athletic Boosters Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday August 24 at the Cherokee Golf & Country Club.
The format for the popular, annual fund-raiser benefiting Cherokee School District athletic programs, is an 18-hole, 4-person Best Shot, with valuable prizes galore awarded throughout the day.
The tourney fee is $45 per player and that includes 18 holes of golf, a great buffet meal served by Hy-Vee Deli, and tons of fun.
After the golf, there will be recognition of sponsors, prizes awarded, and team previews from the Cherokee coaching staffs.
Recent purchases by the Boosters benefiting the Cherokee athletic programs include the new scoreboard at George Hicks Field, boys golf bags, new volleyball standards, funds for a tennis shed, new track and field starting blocks, a wrestling throw dummy, a football jammer, softball pitching machine and equipment bag, baseball hit stick, radar gun, tarps, equipment bags, and other related equipment for the respective sports.
