Susan (Clark) Winters, 55, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, and originally from Washta, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, Aug. 14, 2008.

Funeral services were held on Aug. 21 at the Washta United Methodist Church, with Rev. Richard Layman officiating. Burial was in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, with the Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee in charge of arrangements.

Susan was born on Jan. 6, 1953 at Cherokee, to Roger and Kathryn (Godfrey) Clark. She graduated from Willow Community School in 1971. She touched and motivated thousands of people in her personal life as well as her career with Pioneer Tele Technologies, MCI and Chase. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Susan enjoyed spending time at her lake house, boating, shopping and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Roger "Tom" Clark and a brother-in-law, Ronald Johnson.

She is survived by her life partner Gary Garrels of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter Brandi Winters of Springfield, Mo.; a son, Clark Huffman of Anthon; a daughter, Dawn Garcia and her husband Jerry of Anthon; five sisters and one brother - Rosalie Hunwardsen and her husband Dale of Anthon; Janet Lockwood and her husband Ted of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; Kay Thomsen and her husband Lowell of Galena, Mo.; Mary Johnson of Ida Grove; Nancy Nielsen and her husband David of Quimby; Russell Clark and his wife Jane of Galena, Mo.; a sister-in-law Betsy Clark of Washta, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
