On Aug. 18th, this house. located next to A to Z Liquor on East Maple Street in Cherokee, was razed to make room for a new storage building for Carey's Furniture. Chad Carey, owner of both the home and the furniture store, is excited about the new building.

Carey stated that the new building will be the home to a 2,000 square-foot workshop and the storage building will have an additional 3,500 square feet complete with a loading dock on the Maple Street side. The new building will be one story high and will have a gray finish. It's Carey's hope that it will match with the current look of the surrounding homes. Carey also said that if all goes as planned that current storage space located on the second floor of Carey's Furniture would be turned into a second showroom.
