For those of you who are not familiar with Hoskinson, you may want to check out his video on You Tube.com
In 2007, Hoskinson realized that there was a lot of Iowa that he has never seen. He pulled out an Iowa tourism map and circled sites that he always wanted to visit , then hit the road and visited 68 places and traveled over 5,000 miles between May and November of 2007. On the visits, he danced next to some of Iowa's best-known landmarks.
His inspiration for the 'You Tube' video was Matt Harding. Harding has traveled the world, dancing in front of world landmarks and become an Internet sensation. During all of Harding's travels, he never came to the heartland of America. So Hoskinson filled the void, to speak.
This year, Hoskinson plans on visiting 112 spots in Iowa, and has completed over 60 percent of his trip so far. When he was looking for places to visit, a friend suggested that he get in touch with Linda Burkhart, Director of the Sanford Museum and Planetarium in Cherokee.
After he and his cameraman, Mark Taylor, were done with the dance, they received a private planetarium show, courtesy of Museum educator Kerisa Pingel.
