Martha E. Bobolz, 88, of Cherokee, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2008 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Pastor Richard Arndt officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee.
Martha was born Aug. 22, 1920 at Meriden, to Emma Bobolz. She attended Cherokee Public Schools, graduating from Wilson High School in 1938. She had worked at J. C. Penney as a cashier, and at Cherokee State Bank in the bookkeeping department for many years. She was a resident of Cherokee most of her life, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing and doing crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, two uncles and one aunt.
She is survived by 10 cousins and their families: Ivan & Shirley Bobolz of Quimby; Donald Bobolz of Storm Lake; Anita & Harry Mansfield of Pierson; Iva Jean & Darrell Hackett of Kingsley; LaVon & Roland Wright of Sioux City; Darlene Lux of Hartley; Curtis & Mary Bobolz of Hartley; Janet & Rodney Thomsen of Everly; Gale & Carol Bobolz of Sioux City; Linda & Larry Tewes of Hartley.
