EVERLY - The Clay Central-Everly Mavericks beat the Aurelia Bulldogs in a non-conference volleyball match here on Sept. 4, winning by game scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-9.
Shelby Dierenfield and Erin Laursen led the Bulldog hitters with seven successful attacks each, and Dierenfield had one kill. Dierenfield also led in digging with nine, while Chelsea Loucks had six.
Aurelia coach Ann Dornack said the team's serving was "at its best overall," as Dierenfield had four ace serves and Kayla Bruns two.

Dornack said her Bulldog volleyball team "played tough," and the girls "learned a lot tonight, and will take it to the next match."
