School election results tallied

Deb Johnson
The unofficial vote totals and percentages for the Sept. 9 area school board elections are as follows:

Cherokee Director At-Large - There were 860 votes cast by 467 voters in the two precincts. The number of voters represents 10.5 percent of the 4,447 eligible voters in the Cherokee School District. Incumbent Deb Johnson received 355 votes for 41.3 percent, challenger Jack Creel 264 for 30.7 percent, and incumbent Kirk Sampson 240 for 27.9 percent. There was one write-in vote.

Aurelia Director At-Large - There were 100 votes cast by 51 voters in the two precincts. The number of voters represents 4.2 percent of the 1,210 eligible voters in the Aurelia School District. Unopposed candidates Bradley Rohwer and Dan WInterhof each received 49 votes for 49 percent. There were two write-in votes.

Jack Creel
Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Director Districts 4, 5, 6 - There were 267 votes cast by 267 voters in three precincts. The number of voters represents 12.8 percent of the 2,078 eligible voters in the MMC School District. All three candidates were unopposed. In District 4, Brian Mugge received 84 votes for 91.3 percent and there were eight write-ins. In District 5 Karla Prunty received 89 votes for 97.8 percent and there were two write-ins. In District 6 Vernon Letsche received 80 votes for 95.24 percent and there were four write-in votes.

River Valley Director At-Large (Woodbury County) - Incumbent Lyle Paulsen receved 143 votes, challenger Pred Linn received 47, and challenger Adam Petty received 25. No one ran for a second at-large seat that was vacated and has a one-year term remaining. Write-in votes for that seat showed Dawn McCrea receiving 16 votes, John Anfinson 11, Alan Todd 6, Pamela Briese 4, and Marty Lau 2. No percentages were submitted.
