Yvonne Petrich Miletich, 88, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Cleghorn, passed away on Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, 2008 at Samaritan Bethany Heights in Rochester.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 22 at the Cleghorn Christian Church in Cleghorn, Rev. Bob Blair officiating. Burial was in the Meriden Cemetery. Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Yvonne was born on March 21, 1920 at Cleghorn, Iowa to Herman and Earlena (Springer) Petrich. She graduated from Cleghorn High School in 1938, and attended Morningside College, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with a teaching Degree.
Yvonne was married to Nick J. Miletich on Feb. 23, 1946 at the Christian Church in Cleghorn. She taught school in Marcus, Ft. Dodge, Davenport and Waterloo for 25 years, until retiring in June of 1994. After her retirement, she continued to substitute teach until 1998.
Yvonne was a resident of Rochester, Minn. the past 10 years, and prior to this lived in Waterloo for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Cleghorn Christian Church, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Pythian Sisters, Kappa Delta Pi Sorority, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Yvonne was proud of her 57 years of teaching, and also never forgot her ties to Cleghorn. She enjoyed acrobatics, reading, dogs and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Nick J. Miletich, on March 20, 2003.
