Elliott/Stephens wedding

Lauri Diane Elliot and Kiel Matthew Stephens were united in marriage at 5 p.m. on March 29, 2008 in St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee. Reverend MaGrey R. DeVega officiated the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Steve and Lois Elliott and Ken and Terri Stephens, all of Cherokee. Grandparents of the bride are Glenn and Marcella Petersen of Burlington and Phyllis Elliott of Cherokee.

Grandparents of the groom are Rollie and Jill Streeter of Spring Valley, Ill. Serving the bride as Maids of Honor were Annie and Ashley Larson, cousins of the bride. Bridesmaids were Nicole Rupp, Robyn and Alysa Heithold, all friends of the bride. Serving as flower girls were Lily and Grace Anderson, friends of the brides. Personal attendants for the bride were sister-in-law's Jessica Elliott and Kasey Stowater. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Serving the groom as Best Man was Ken Stephens, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Korey Stephens, brother of the groom, Ryan Stowater, brother-in-law of the groom, Ben Heller, cousin of the groom and Jordan Widner, friend of the groom.

Ushers for the ceremony were Chriss Elliott, brother of the bride, Aaron Legband, Ric Volk and Lynn Junck, all friends of the groom. Guest book attendants were Sarah Kieu and Alica Echdahl, cousins of the groom. Organist was Betty Point and soloist was Teresa Untiedt, friend of the bride.

Mike and Karen Darnell, uncle and aunt of the bride, Rick and Paulette Heller and Mike and Alana Geving, all uncles and aunts of the groom, served as host and hostess. A reception followed at the Western Iowa Tech Convention Center.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Washington High School and earned her B.S. degree in Business Administration/Human Resource Management and minor in Speech Communication from Wayne State College in 2007. She is currently employed with Sara Lee in Zeeland, Mich. as a Human Resource Generalist.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Washington High School and earned his B.S. degree in Education majoring in Mid-level Education from Wayne State College in 2007. He is currently teaching in Holland, Michigan.

Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple reside in Holland, Mich.
