The football 'powder puff' games will begin at 6 p.m. that evening, with the freshmen vs. sophomores and the juniors vs. seniors at 7 p.m., and the RES/CMS faculty vs. WHS faculty at 8 p.m.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and cost will be $2 for adults and $1 for students. No activity tickets will be honored for this event. A jersey auction for the powder puff game will be held at 7:15 p.m., and a bonfire and pep rally will be held after the faculty game.
Friday will be 'Spirit Day,' and students will be wearing black and gold to show their support for the football players. Class skits will be held in the WHS gymnasium at 12:45 p.m.and the Coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen will be in the WHS auditorium at 1:15 p.m.
The Homecoming parade will start at 2:30 p.m.Friday in the vicinity of the Cherokee County Court House (6th Street and West Main) and travel east down the hill on Main Street, ending at the Hy-Vee Drugstore parking lot for an all-community pep rally.
The 2008 King & Queen candidates will introduced and the public will hear from the Braves captains and coaches.
The Homecoming game will start at 7 p.m. when the Cherokee Braves will play Clarion-Goldfield at George Hicks Field.
