Roosevelt Elementary School teachers took their 4th Grade classes on a field trip
to the Historic Cherokee Depot recently. While there, the three groups listened to former railroad worker Randy Smith talk about "the old days" on the railroad and also had an opportunity to ask questions. Jim Adamson also presented an interesting slide show on the history of the railroad here in Cherokee, and the students also toured the general waiting room and ticket office area. Visitors to the Historic Cherokee Depot are able to view several items representative of the golden age of railroad transportation in America.
