AURELIA - The Aurelia Bulldog volleyball team hosted arch-rival and Northwest Conference foe Alta on Sept. 25 and, in the words of Aurelia coach Ann Dornack, "The girls worked hard and tried their best, but just couldn't get it done against the tough challenge Alta brought."

Alta coach Jeannie Henningsen has just two seniors on her Cyclone squad, but they beat the Bulldogs in three straight games, by scores of 25-11, 25-7 and 25-15.

Erin Laursen and Audrey Winterhof had four kills apiece to lead the Bulldog attack, and Shelby Dierenfield led in digs with 18, while Winterhof added 12.

Laursen and Dierenfield each had one block and the team's "serving was not the best tonight," said Dornack. Kayla Bruns had one ace serve.
