Adele A. Fogleman, 86, of Cherokee, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center. Private family services will be held at a later date. On line condolences may be sent to www.boothbyfuneral.com
Adele was born on Aug. 27, 1922 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Albin and Elsie (Hanson) Johnson. She attended schools in Brooklyn, N.Y.and was married to James Fogleman on Sept. 9, 1942 in Elk Point, S.D.
She had lived in Cherokee since 1976 and prior to that lived in Washta for 32 years. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting with family and friends and she loved to read.
Adele was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James in 1974; and one brother and one sister.
She is survived by her three children: Jean Eckert and her husband Bill of Emmetsburg, Pat Compton and her husband Jim of Aurelia and Ronald Fogleman and his wife Judy of Costa Mesa, Calif; and seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren: Tonya Bauer and her husband Nate of Moville and their children Tyler and Brooke Bauer; Jody Radke and her husband Matt of Sheldon and their children MacKensey, Payton, Brennan and Blake Radke; Jamie Compton and his wife Stacy of Spokane, Wash.; Dawn Bain and her husband Denny of Kingsley and their children Madelyn and Kassandra Bain; Heather Marx and her husband Curt of Red Wing, Minn. and their children Jack and Nic Marx; Nicole Salazar and her husband Paul of California and their son Cole; Amanda Fogleman of California.
