OMAHA, Neb. - Chad Farley, Oelrichs, SD (2006 world champion) won the saddle bronc riding finals on MJM Rodeos Little Stone at the ProRodeo Tour-Omaha Round of the Ariat Playoffs held September 25-27 at the Qwest Center, Omaha, Neb.
Chad scored 88 points in the final round on Little Stone to win $7500. In the semifinals, Farley scored 87 points on Barnes PRCA Rodeo's D8 Cat Power for third place winning $1875.00. In the second round Farley scored 81 points on MJM Rodeos' Tooke Scott helping him to advance to the semifinals. Chad won a total of $13,125 at Omaha (includes $9375 won on Barnes/MJM horses).
The top 12 contestants in the Wrangler ProTour competed in two go arounds; the top eight then advanced to the semifinals, and then the top four advanced to the finals. Money won at the Ariat Playoffs count towards the Wrangler National Finals held in December. The total prize money was $400,000.
Jesse Kruse, Great Falls, MT, rode Barnes PRCA Rodeo's saddle bronc Chain of Command for an 86 score wining first and $3750 in the 2nd round.
JJ Elshere rode MJM's saddle bronc Edmonton in the 1st round for 77 points helping him to advance to the semi finals.
The bareback riding saw Steven Dent, Mullen, Neb., riding Barnes' bareback horse Dodge Hills for 83 points helping him to advance to the semifinals. Justin McDaniel, Proum, OK, rode Barnes' bareback horse Garazon for 82 points splitting 4/5 winning $468.75.
