Leah is the daughter of Melanie and Kenny Petersen of Correctionville, and Dennis Wieland of Aurelia, and the granddaughter of Harold and Marilee Peterson and Betty Wieland of Aurelia. Daniel is the son of Pandora and Dana Phipps of Cherokee, and Larry and Sandy Niemeier of Kansas City, and the grandson of Frances Niemeier of Cherokee and Roxie Behn of Cherokee.
Mary Pat Norgaard, friend of the couple, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Hales, Tricia Sang, Nicole Wieland, Linzi Bierman, Christi Piercy, Erika Otto, Amanda Baiocchi, all friends of the couple.
Chad Peterson, friend of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Cody Lucas, Willie Good, Kasey Reilly, Bill Weathers, Cody Cedar, and Nathan Schubert with them in spirit, all friends of the couple.
The flower girls were Jordan Kahl, Taylor Niemeier, Emerson Norgaard, Macie Gum, Emma Good, and Izabella Householder.
The ring bearers were Isaiah Kahl, Caleb Niemeier, Izik Grohe, Tate Piercy, Brayden Good, and Grant Householder.
The bride and groom's personal attendants were Nicole Lockwood and Rachel Lucas, both friends of the couple.
The ushers were Josh Niemeier, Matt Niemeier, Drew Wieland, Dustin Wieland, Jordan Phipps, and Ryan Phipps.
The guest book attendants were Traci Johnson, Amber Good, and Rachel Lucas.
Katie and Todd Burkholder, Aunt and Uncle of the bride sang the first dance song at the reception, "God Bless the Broken Road that Led Me Straight to You."
The couple honeymooned at the Sandal's White House, in Negril, Jamaica following the wedding.
Leah graduated from Aurelia High School and Des Moines Area Community College.
She is an Administrative Marketing Assistant for Dakota Beverage in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Daniel graduated from Cherokee High School and served in the Marines for 4 years. He has attended SDSU in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dan returned to Iraq on September 10th, 2008, and continues to work as a State Department Contractor.
The newlyweds have a home in Brandon, South Dakota.
