Alta rambles past River Valley

ALTA - The rated Alta Cyclones ran for three touchdowns and passed for two more on the way to a 36-6 District victory over River Valley here on Oct. 3rd.

The visiting Wolverines scored their lone TD on a 30-yard pass from Zach Hullinger to Austin Hansen.

Hullinger completed 12-24 passes for 162 yards and one TD, with one interception. Hansen caught six passes for 104 yards and the TD. Anthony Volkert caught four passes for 53 yards. Hansen completed one pass for 30 yards to give RV 192 yards through the air.

River Valley rushed the ball 21 times for a scant five total yards, while compiling 41 negative yards against the stout Cyclone defense.

Alta rushed 54 times for 290 yards while controlling the ball much of the game. Jack Mills carried it 29 times for 182 yards to lead the way. Michael Husman carried it nine times for 33 yards and one touchdown, and Schuyler Radke lugged it nine times for 37 yards and two touchdowns. Husman was leading receiver for Alta, catching four passes for 96 yards and two TDs. Cameron Manteufel scored the other Alta TD on a nine-yard TD pass from quarterback Jeremy Lambert. Lambert was 6-11 passing for 107 yards and three TDs.

Sam Lundt and Cody Paris led the Wolverines on defense with nine tackles each, while Ethan Todd and Tyrel McCrea each had eight, Taylor Georgopoulos and Billy Pansegrau seven apiece, and Justin Nippert and Josh Kline five each. Lundt also had 93 yards on three kick-off returns.

Austin Stille and Jake Syndergaard led Alta's defense with five tackles apiece, while Mills, Ryan Vonnahme, Ben Stevens, Manteufel, Radke, and Robbie Sauter each tallied four stops.
