Equipment Training needs

Western Iowa Tech Community College and Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation will present a "Lunch and Learn" session to help area manufacturers and businesses that have equipment training needs to learn about Western Iowa Tech Community College's new mobile Skills Centers. This session will be held at WITTC's Cherokee Campus on Friday, October 24th, from 11AM-12 Noon for learning and 12 Noon to 1PM lunch. Take this opportunity to educate yourself on this new tool to help business and manufacturing in our area.

There are two trailers (Mobile Skill Centers) that are available to be used on-site at manufacturing or business operations.

Each Mobile Skills Center provides a unique environment to learn high tech manufacturing and maintenance skills such as:

*PLC Programming & Troubleshooting

*Motor Control *Computer Aided Drafting

*Process Control *Computer Numerical Control(CNC) Operations & Programming

*Pump Operations & Troubleshooting

The Industrial Maintenance Skills Center offers these unique features:

*five 15-inch flat panel TV's *Seven removable workstations on wheels with chairs

The Manufacturing Engineering Skills Center offers these unique features:

*A Haas Office Mill OM-1

* A Haas Office Lathe OL-1

*Four 15-inch flat panel TV's

The trailer is divided into 2 learning areas; one classroom in the front and an area for hands-on learning in the back.

Both Skills Centers offer:

*Server with Coastal Software and other technical training software
*13 laptops with internal network wiring back to server
*DVD player
*Speaker system with wireless microphones
*Instructor station with network hookups
*42 inch flat panel TV
*Air conditioning and propane furnace
*Internal lighting and exit signs
*Side door with steps and a rear ramp for entrance and exit
