The SLP boys totaled 51 points to win the competition, followed by Hull Western Christian, 73; Le Mars, 79; Spencer, 90; Sheldon, 128; Emmetsburg, 136; Storm Lake, 143; Cherokee, 165 and Estherville-LC/AR, 251.
The Indians also won the girls team title with 32 points, followed by ELC/AR ,75; Le Mars, 98; Sheldon, 109; Spencer, 123; HWC, 157; Storm Lake, 172; Emmetsburg, 177 and Cherokee, 279.
As he has all season, Nate O'Bryan paced the Cherokee Braves, finishing 16th in 17:42. He was followed by brother Nick O'Bryan 28th in 18:32, Zach Mosbach 31st in 19:14, Kody Sump 43rd in 19:42, Calvin Conley 47th in 20:24, Cole Renken 53rd in 21:01, and John Bieber 22:22 (no place submitted).
Chyenne Mortenson led the Cherokee girls, placing 49th in 19:10, followed by Katy Hart 56th in 21:17, Amanda Kohn 59th in 22:06, Whitney Axiotis 57th in 22:39, and Abby Hayes 58th in 23:18.
"The race weather was near perfect," said Cherokee cross country coach Deb Hankens. "The rain stopped and the sun came out. Temps were in the 50s with little wind.
"Although this hasn't been a year of top finishes, it has been a year of accomplishment. Compared to the times run on the same course only two weeks ago, every Cherokee runner put in a faster time at Conference Monday. This included more than a minute improvement for both Katy Hart and Abby Hayes. The dedication of this year's team has been inspiring."
Gage Sitzmann of Le Mars won the boys title with a 16:26 clocking. Maddie Theisen of Le Mars won the girls crown in a time of 15:31.
Class 2A Co-ed Districts are Oct. 23 at Spirit Lake.
