Ranked Alta clobbers MMC, 44-8

MARCUS - Ranked and once-beaten Alta spanked Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn 44-8 in Class A District football action here on Oct. 10, with a big 22-point second quarter blowing the contest wide open early.

The winning Cyclones had five rushing touchdowns, with Michael Huseman carrying the ball nine times for 111 yards and two TDs, Jack Mills carrying the ball 14 times for 133 yards and two Tds, and fullback Jake Syndergaard carrying it one time for one yard and a TD.

Alta quarterback Jeremy Lambert was 2-6 passing for 22 yards as the Cyclones rushed 41 times for 316 yards in the game.

MMC rushed 22 times for 105 yards with Jacob Lehnhoff leading the way with nine carries for 56 yards, and Lukas Nelson 12 carries for 47 yards. Nelson was 10-21 passing for 91 yards.

The Eagles scored their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 13-yard run by Lehnhoff, with Jordan petersen hauling in the two-point conversion run.

Jarad Letsche led MMC in receiving with six catches for 64 yards, while Blake Erdman had two for five yards, Lehnhoff one for 17 yards, and Jordan Boekhout one for five yards.

MMC was victimized with two lost fumbles and tallied nine first downs to 15 by Alta.

Blaine Dammann led the MMC defense, in on 18 tackles, while Letsche was in on 16, Kyle Wester 14, Alex Roseen 13, Russ Godbersen six, Derek Schlinz six, Dan Holmes six, Petersen five, and Neal Bunt five.

Syndergaard led Alta tacklers with six, followed by Austin Stille five, Schuyler Radke four, and Cameron Manteufel four.
