HOLSTEIN - The highly-regarded, 14th-ranked Galva-Holstein Lady Pirates' volleyball team pushed their conference mark to a sterling 7-1 with a 25-18, 25-8, 25-13 sweep of Remsen-Union here on October 14.
Coach Scott Mitchell's squad was led in kills by Heather Joslin, with nine and Heidi Rollefson, with seven; Lanae Broesder had 29 assists; dig leaders were Ashley Buell with 19 and Heather Joslin with 15; Heidi Rollefson had two blocks, and Ashley Buell delivered six ace serves.
Coach Mitchell said, "We didn't have the best serving night, and had a few problems in other areas, but we played well enough to win. We hit the ball well when we did pass the ball to our setter."

Galva-Holstein's overall mark is now 19-2 heading into the tough Bishop Heelan Tournament on Saturday Oct. 18. Regional play begins Wednesday night Oct. 22, when the Lady Piates face River Valley in Holstein.
