Timothy K. Torpin, 57, passed away suddenly on November 3, 2008, in San Diego , CA .

The memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Bonita, CA on Friday, November 14th, at 10:00AM.

Tim was born November 21, 1950, in Mitchell , SD to Charles Hollister Torpin and Marceil (Doty) Boedeker. He was a graduate of Washington High School with the Class of 1969.

Tim was married to Mary Jane Miller in Sioux City , Iowa on September 7, 1974. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, of Spring Valley, CA; his daughter, Jane Marie, of San Francisco, CA; his son, Carleton, of Los Angeles, CA; siblings Lynda (Torpin) Antonsen and husband LeRoy of Le Sueur, MN; Geoffrey and wife Sherry of Ramona, CA; Larry Boedeker and wife Helen of Willow, AK; Laurie (Boedeker) Thevenot and husband Matt of Plano, TX; and Lisa (Boedeker) Johnson and husband Brian of Wasilla, AK; sister-in-law Jan Torpin of Newnan, GA; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hollister "Holly" Torpin, his mother, Marceil "Marcy" (Doty) Boedeker, step-father Lawrence "Doc" Boedeker and brother Charles "Chuck" Torpin, Jr.

Tim's lifelong vocation and love of coins took him all across the United States . In his cross-country travels with his coin business, he never found a person he didn't like. He made friends everywhere he went and he always had an interesting story to share. He loved life and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
