Community Empowerment Program works with children and families

Programs available in area for at-risk pre-schoolers

Northwest Iowa Community Empowerment (NICE) is an agency serving Cherokee, Plymouth, Sioux and Lyon Counties, and is responsible for funding and administering several programs for children ages 0-5 and their families.

The agency is investing more than a million dollars into these programs this year.

Availble programs include Healthy Families, a home visitation program for famlies at risk; Preschool Tuition Scholarships for children in programs that meet educational standards; Parent workshops; Curriculum training for preschools and childcare centers; and much more.

NICE has Planning Councils in all four counties they serve, with headquarters in the Orange City office.
