Corrington/Sumner wedding

Melanie Corrington and Matthew Sumner were united in marriage on Aug. 31, 2008 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee. Pastor Magrey deVega officiated the ceremony.

Melanie is the daughter of James and Peggy Corrington of Cherokee, and Matthew is the son of Doug and Carol Sumner of Hutchinson, Kan.

Melanie wore a Mori Lee dress with embroidered net overlays, a strapless bodice and cascades over the modified basque waistline. The flowing A-line skirt was edged with scalloped embroidery at the hemline. A corset tieback met the ruched chapel length train with embroidery tucked into the pickups.

Matron of Honor was Erika Otto, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jaime Quenzer and Beth Hansen, friends of the bride. Best men was Robert Oliver, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Justin Teter and Chad Duncan, friends of the groom.

Ushers were Tom Corrington, brother of the bride and Willie Taylor , brother in-law of the groom. The flower girls were Pyper Taylor, niece of the groom and Josi Solsaa, friend of the bride.

Music at the ceremony was provided by organist, Sheri Held. Katie Cedar and Rachael Corken ,friends of the bride attended the guestbook. A reception and dance followed at the Western Iowa Tech Convention Center in Cherokee. Host and Hostess were Chris and Ashley Gregory, William and Sue Schwaller, and William and Rose Mary Salter relatives of the bride.

Melanie is employed in the Radiography department at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Matthew is part owner of the family business Phoenix Boiler. The couple is at home in Guthrie, Okla.
