S-C, Alta, L-M dominate NWC picks

State tournament participant Schaller-Crestland led the selections for the Northwest Conference Volleyball All-Conference teams named recently.

The Wildcats landed three players on the first team - sophomore Roxanne Grundmeier, junior Chelsea Clayton and senior Katie Murra - as well as sophomore Egypt Clayton and junior Sydney Shell on the second team.

Alta, which finished second in the conference with a 5-1 mark, also had three selections on the first team - sophomores Jordan Henningson and Courtney Van Haaften and senior Jessy Bibler, and two on the second team - soph Ashley Syndergaard and junior Geneva Heschke.

Jordan Sundblad of Laurens-Marathon, Brooke Scharn of Sioux Central and Rachel Culp of Newell-Fonda rounded out the first team selections.

Laurens-Marathon placed three players on the second team - Shelby Heuton, Chelsea Anderson and Amanda Zylstra. Sioux Central's Grace Rehnstrom and Storm Lake St. Mary's junior Jen Dimig were also named to the second team.

Aurelia's Ashley Anderson was one of the players who received honorable mention.
