MANSON - The Aurelia/Galva-Holstein/Schaller-Crestland (AGHSC) wrestling team competed in the Manson NW Webster Tournament on Dec. 6th with a limited line-up, due to injuries and other extra-curricular activities.
Nevertheless, Coach Scott Phelps said the Stonecutters "competed well and placed all of their wrestlers in the Top 5 in their weight class." As a team, AGHSC finished 7th, with 106.5 points. Manson-Northwest Webster won the tournament with 237 points.
Phelps said, "The coaches were happy with the effort of our kids, as they saw vast improvement from the first meet. The kids continue to work hard and we are seeing improvement daily. The kids wrestled hard-fought matches and we won some and lost some other close matches."
103- Ronnie Huseman lost to Ethan Feldman (Fort Dodge St. Edmond) in :25 to place second.
112- Vance Kreutz won 16-0 over Joey DuPont to place third.
125- Ryan Donahoo lost by fall in 4:50 to Lucas Huisman (South Hamilton) to place 4th.
135 - Tyler Kenny won by fall in 1:53 over Casey Coy (South Hamilton) to place 5th.
145 - Daniel Brosamle lost by fall in 2:38 to Tyler Wisecup (South Hamilton) to place 4th.
152 - Josh Schwanz won by fall in :18 over Keaton Lanning (St. Edmond) to place 3rd.
160 - Taylor Witzel won 16-1 over Cody Heun (East Sac) to place 3rd.
189- Elliott Zadow won 10-6 over Sean Nichols (Ogden) to place 5th.
