Aurelia girls lose two games

The Aurelia girls' basketball squad played a Northwest Conference game at home against Alta on Dec.12, losing by a 70-30 score.

Erin Laursen and Meghan Glawe shared scoring and rebounding honors for the Bulldogs with eight points and nine rebounds each. Audrey Winterhof and Amber Loucks had three assists apiece, and Shaina Thevenin, Kayla Bruns, and Laursen each had three of the 14 steals by the Bulldog girls.The team, unfortunately, committed 26 turnovers as well. Jordan Henningsen led the Cyclones with 27 points and nine steals, and Emily Grieme added 11 points.

On Dec. 13th, the Bulldogs traveled to Ruthven-Ayrshire for a non-conference game and lost a close one, 41-37, after leading 13-2, 20-13 and 31-28 at the quarter breaks.

Meghan Glawe scored 17 points to lead the Bulldog girls and Amber Loucks was also in double figures, scoring 10. Audrey Winterhof led the team in rebounds, with seven, and assists, with five. Cassidy Smith hit 17 points to lead R-A, and Sadie Forey added 12 points.
