Cherokee's highest finish was fourth place recorded by Zac Anderson at 135 pounds, and Peter Cosgrove at heavyweight.
Anderson was 2-2 in matches for the day, winning by fall in 1:53 over Jared Schultz of Alta, losing in a 9-8 thriller to Julio Ayala of Sibley-Ocheyedan, winning a 2-0 decision over Zane Roberts of Sheldon-South O'Brien, and losing by fall in :43 to Tyler Kenney of Aurelia-Galva-Holstein/Schaller-Crestland.
Cherokee's Tyler Lundsgaard (171) and Calvin Conley (152) placed fifth. Lundsgaard was 1-2 with a bye for the day, and Conley 2-2.
Lundsgaard, wrestling several pounds over his normal weight, lost by fall to Blaine Dammann of Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn in 5:13, lost by fall in 2:37 to Bruce McWilliams of SSO, and beat Mitchell Janssen of MOC-FV 8-0.
Conley lost 2-0 to Knute Klinker of SSO, beat Drew Skatterbo of AGHSC 15-0, lost 4-2 decision in overtime to Schuyler Radke of Alta, and pinned Drew Rupp of MOC-FV in 2:50.
Rick Weaver was sixth at 119 pounds, and Patrick Loughlin sixth at 160.
Weaver pinned Hayden Adkins of SSO in 2:53, lost by fall to Ethan Lambert of MOC-FV in 3:53, and lost by fall to Julia Ayala of S-O in 3:35.
Loughlin won by default, lost 7-3 to Kass Schany of Graettinger-Terril, lost 5-2 to Jason Van Ginkel of West Lyon, and lost 8-2 to Tanner Matthews of SSO.
"We had some growing pains in Sibley," noyed Cherokee coach Jason Wood. "This was a very tough tournament. We didn't get the best draws to start. We didn't wrestle well. We have things to work on and hopefully we will do better next week at the Paul Fuhrman Invitational."
G-T won the team title with 217 points, followed by S-O 208, SSO 199, MMC 124, MOC-FV 123, Akta 118, AGHSC 76, WL 47, Cherokee 43.5.
