Marjorie Christensen, the daughter of Guy R. and Bernice (Clark) Miller was born April 25, 1923 at Des Moines, Iowa and departed this life December 15, 2008 at the Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City, Iowa. She lived her life to the age of 85 years, 7 months and 20 days.
Marjorie was raised on a farm near Churdan and later moved to Lohrville. She graduated from the Lohrville High School and later attended business school in Des Moines. She returned to Lohrville, where she started working as a secretary at Air Electric Company, where she met her future husband, Norwood Christensen. On November 14, 1943, Marjorie Miller was united in marriage to Norwood Christensen at the Methodist Church in Lohrville. To this union was born a son, Warren. The couple lived in Lohrville until 1952, when they moved to Cherokee, Iowa. Marjorie worked as a Medical Transcriber at the Cherokee State Hospital from 1955 until her retirement in 1988. Marjorie moved to Rockwell City to live with her mother until her mother's death in 1999. Marjorie continued to live in Rockwell City.
Marjorie was an active member of the Church of Christ in Rockwell City. She enjoyed her computer, sewing, reading mysteries and garage sale expeditions.
Left to mourn her passing is her son, Warren of Mountain View, California and many nieces and nephews. Those who preceded her in death were her parents, husband in 1976, and two sisters; Neola Mack and Delores Hanlon.
Funeral services were held on December 2 at the Brown Funeral Home in Lohrville, with Rev. Dwaine Simonsen officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery near Lohrville. The musical selections "Lord, I'm Coming Home" and "God Be with You Till We Meet Again" were played at the service.
Casket bearers were Roger Trotter, Jason Stamp, Bill Trotter, Al Hepp, Mike Hanlon and James Hepp.
